I joined Jubal for more than one reason: for friendship, to glorify God, and so I would be able to enjoy making music in a group.   I joined when there were a few male voices in the choir, and I sang; but now I just play.

I never see Jubal as a substitute to praising God in Church, it is an addition.  Neither do I go along because I prefer the type or style of song we sing to hymns.  I love the old hymns; but I like to praise God in songs set to different styles of music too!  So, please be encouraged to praise God yourself, whatever style of music you prefer.  However, what is most important is that you do come to God, our great creator, despite your sin, through his son, Jesus Christ.  Because he provides a way to God most of our songs are about him and what he does.  Perhaps all of them are ...

I can play both the guitar and bass guitar.  I play bass for Jubal, and am glad that playing with Jubal has given me an excuse to both practice regularly and buy some new equipment.  :-)
